If something went wrong, the two things that help most are the name of a track it got wrong and what the right answer was — the tempo you know it is, or the key Rekordbox shows.

Selectah read a tempo at half of what it should be

It weighs each candidate tempo by how plausible it is for dance music, which settles most of these. If you find one it still gets wrong, send it over.

The key does not match what Mixed In Key says

When a file already carries a key from Rekordbox, Serato, Mixed In Key or Beatport, Selectah believes it and does not re-analyse — that is the Use tags switch. It only measures the key itself when the file has none, and its own reading is right about half the time on real records, which is honest but not as good as a dedicated key detector.

It did not find some of my files

Selectah reads what CoreAudio reads: mp3, m4a, aac, alac, wav, aiff and flac. ogg, opus and wma are out: decoding them needs a program the app would have to call out to, and a sandboxed app may only run what ships inside it.

I applied a plan and want my folder back

Press Undo. Every run is recorded, and Undo puts the files back and removes the folders it made.

Will it touch my originals?

Not unless you pick Move. The default makes links, which take no disk space and leave every file where it is. Copy duplicates them. Only Move relocates the originals, and Undo reverses even that.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Selectah never connects to anything. See the privacy policy.

It needs an Apple Silicon Mac

Selectah is built for arm64. It will not run on an Intel Mac.
